Matt Jones
Biography
Matthew obtained a PhD in Mathematics from UCL. He has more than twenty years’ experience of working in academia, holding several senior academic management positions, managing change in large and complex provisions, succesfully desigining and developing programmes and leading large teams. He teaches mainly on the mathematics and computing modules. His research interests include understanding how students obtain and internalise mathematical knowledge through processes that encourage students to rationalise problem solving. He has published several articles in mathematics education practice and in pure mathematics research.
Matthew is a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (FIMA) and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). Matthew is currently the School of Management’s Assessment and Feedback lead.
