Harveen Chugh
Biography
Harveen Chugh is Professor in Entrepreneurship and Director of the UCL MBA. She specialises in entrepreneurship education, developing the practice of coaching and mentoring for entrepreneurs and designing new entrepreneurship programmes, most recently the new Pathway to High Growth programme for MSDUK. Prior to joining UCL, Harveen was Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at Warwick Business School, where she was Director of the Global Online MBA (London) and co-led the School’s two largest modules, Business in Practice and Entrepreneurial Mindset to around 700 students each. Harveen also has prior teaching experience at Imperial College Business School, LSE, Royal Holloway and Queen Mary.
Harveen’s practical experience includes setting up her own company designing programmes for universities and accelerators. She has also been a Growth Manager on a UK government programme, where she managed a portfolio of 25 startups to raise £4.97mn in equity investment. Harveen has coached and mentored many entrepreneurs over the years, including on the Royal Academy of Engineering LIF programmes, university programmes and pitch competitions.
She is a co-founder of the Network for Coaching and Mentoring Entrepreneurs (NCME), with over 100 programme managers and enterprise educator members from across the UK. The NCME meets once a term for a panel talk arranged on a specialist topic to advance the practice of coaching and mentoring entrepreneurs.
She has won a number of recent awards including the WeAreTheCity Rising Star Award in 2023, Outstanding Contribution to Teaching at Warwick Business School in 2022 and 2021, two National Enterprise Educator Awards for Enterprise Catalyst and People’s Choice in 2020. She was also named as one of the Best 40 Under 40 Business School Professors by Poets&Quants in 2019.
