The Next Generation of Entrepreneurs for Ukraine Lecture Series welcomed Viktor and Denys Gurskyi, partners of the London-based multi-service organisation VC 1991 for a guest lecture. As one of the first supporters of the Lecture Series, VC 1991 is a London-based seed venture fund investing in mission-driven CEE and Ukrainian founders. The company recently secured a $10 million donation from Google to fund its accelerator programme, which supports startups in Central and Eastern Europe, including Ukraine.

The Lecture Series, which earlier this month received the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centres (GCEC) Award for Excellence in Specialised Entrepreneurship Education, aims to provide participants with the tools to transform their business idea into a successful start-up and support their entrepreneurial development.

During the lecture, Viktor and Denys emphasised the importance of building partnerships and delivering effective pitches to secure investment. Viktor Gurskyi focused on investor relations, explaining that partnerships rely on financial performance, innovative ideas, shared values, and mutual respect. Denys Gurskyi offered specific recommendations to participants and highlighted the importance of trust and clear communication. The session concluded with a Q&A, where participants gained practical advice on developing their business ideas.

Viktor and Denys Gurskyi provided clear and actionable guidance on building investor relationships and preparing effective pitches to raise money.”

On Wednesday 04 December, UCL School of Managment will be hosting a Pitch Day compeition and the closing ceremony for all participants. This provides the participatnst with the opportunity to present their ideas to a panel of industry experts and potential investors.
