UCL School of Management alumna Isabella Mandich has recently been awarded with the Innovate UK Young Innovators Award in recognition of her work with LocalMeal, a restaurant discovery platform that promotes smaller and independent businesses that are often overlooked by consumers for more established chain restaurants.
Celebrated annually, the Young Innovators Awards recognise young people with ground-breaking business ideas that have the potential to become successful entrepreneurs and future drivers of change and innovation. This year, 94 inspiring young leaders were awarded and each received a £5,000 grant, one-on-one tailored coaching and mentorship, and an allowance for living costs to support their business idea.
Isabella co-founded LocalMeal alongside fellow BSc Management Science alumni, Noah Deron and Derin Mutlu and, since its conception, the business has developed a large social media following and has even been selected by Innovate UK EDGE as a startup with IP/Commercialisation potential.
