The latest piece of research by Colin Fisher, which discusses the need for leaders to offer ‘deep help’, rather than micromanage, has been published in HR Magazine.
Professor Fisher’s research suggested that while managers should continue to offer autonomy and the space to self manage, they should not simply leave their subordinates alone.
In fact, leaders should offer ‘deep help’, by making time to assist, but not take control over, tricky or persistent problems.
