We are thrilled to announce that three UCL School of Management alumni have been named in this year’s Hurun UK Under30s and Under35s list. BSc Information Management for Business alumnus Mario Maher featured in celebration of his luxury fashion and apparel startup, Heat, while MSc Entrepreneurship alumnae and twin sisters Joyce and Raissa de Haas were recognised for their drinks startup Double Dutch Drinks.
The Hurun Research institute releases its annual list in recognition of the young powerhouses who are helping the UK economy reach new heights. The list was announced at a recent ceremony held in London and was attended by UCL School of Management Director Davide Ravasi and External Engagement Director Tim Ruthven. In total, an astonishing 8 UCL alumni appeared in the list.
Mario Maher launched Heat, a luxury online service, in 2019 alongside friend and co-founder Joe Wilkinson, with the duo witnessing their first 1,000 mystery fashion boxes selling out in just 20 minutes. Today, they sell boxes worldwide with support from some of the biggest brands in luxury fashion. Since graduating from UCL School of Management, Mario has also featured in Forbes 30-Under-30 in recognition of his entrepreneurial talent and has appeared on a number of panels with names such as Forbes and Courtyard by Marriott.
Twin sisters Joyce and Raissa de Haas launched Double Dutch Drinks in 2015 and have taken the industry by storm. With their tonics and mixers sold through retailers in 24 countries worldwide, they have also won a number of awards, including ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the 2022 Business Champion Awards. The business has also seen significant investment from Dutch brewing giant Heineken, who purchased a 10% stake in the company.
