As the world of work has become increasingly digital, digital skills are essential for early career and experienced professionals in all industries. In this session we’ll be joined by Irina Ionescu, Senior Analytical Lead at Google and UCL School of Management Alumna who will share insights on how digital skills and analytics have become increasingly important in her work and the work of others in Google.
In particular, she’ll focus on her work leading analytical projects to accelerate business growth for Google’s largest clients in film, beauty and gaming, and how the use of data analytics helps her to deliver high impact projects for her clients.
Insights will include:
- Using youtube data to analyze Hollywood film trailers and which parts resonate most with target audiences
- Using Google search + location data to uncover where film fans live, influencing marketing budget allocations releases
- Using Google search data to identify opportunities in the beauty industry where there is a high demand for products that are not currently available in store
About Irina Ionescu (SoM Class of 2012)
For the past four years, Irina has worked as an Analytical Lead at Google, covering the Films and Gaming industries. In her role, she is responsible for analyzing trends ( using Google + YouTube data), developing actionable insights for the top gaming and film studios and using a data-driven approach to their marketing strategy.
Prior to her current position, she worked as a Business Intelligence Analyst at a British consultancy, PA Consulting and at Goldman Sachs. Irina started her career in analytics over 9 years ago, specializing in user lifetime value and video creatives.
