What is Behavioural Economics and why is it important?
What we will cover
You may have read or heard of the best-selling books Nudge and Misbehaving. The author, Richard Thaler, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics for his contributions to behavioural economics. Behavioural economics critically challenges the homo economicus assumption widely used in modern economics and investigates the impact of psychological, cognitive, and social factors on the decisions of economic agents. This enrichment session aims to provide interested students with a general introduction to behavioural economics, including its theories and applications in the industry.
