UCL School of Management is delighted to invite alumni from UCL SoM and wider UCL, as well as students on the UCL-PKU MBA, to join us for a panel discussion and meet-up in Beijing.
Taking place at the Four Seasons Hotel, Beijing, this meet-up gives you a chance to chat to your former peers, network with new alumni and business leaders, and also to re-ignite relationships with your teaching teams.
There will also be a panel discussion with UCL and Peking University academics, as well as business leaders, looking at:
The internet at 50
On 29 October 1969, the first message was sent from computer to computer between two US universities on what would become to be known as the internet. Lead by UCL professor Peter Kirstein, “the father of the UK internet”, UCL played a key role in connecting the first computer on the internet outside of the US in 1973.
Fifty years later, we’re revisiting the original principles of the internet while forecasting what its future will look like. Now that it plays a central role in facilitating trade, connecting communities and enabling societies, what are the challenges and opportunities? As the internet enters its next wave we’ll ask how those principles of collaboration, knowledge-sharing and trust can be preserved.
If you would like to join us at this free event, you can book your ticket on Eventbrite.
UCL Gala 2019
After our Alumni event, the UCL Club of Beijing is hosting their Annual Gala at the Four Seasons Hotel. All of our guests are invited to join us at the Gala.
